Post: DCPS Seeks to Close Under-Enrolled Schools

Take a peek at this Washington Post story on DCPS plans to close under-enrolled schools. I have been told by certain ANC 5B reps that Wheatley Elementary (pictured below) will be renovated & re-opened as a neighborhood school . I find it hard to believe (unless, of course, overcrowding is an issue at Webb) that DCPS would spend the money to renovate & re-open Wheatley at a time when the District is actively seeking to consolidate schools & shed excess properties.
