"Men should wear shorts or bathing trunks (no bikinis)"

Lots of rules!
" Yoga mat rental is included in the Introductory week package. Studio towels can be rented for $1.00. Water can be purchased for $2.00."
Mat Rental? GREED!

The quote referenced in the previous comment about what men should wear is taken from the FAQ section - it is simply a suggestion. The room is heated to about 105 degrees so wear whatever is comfortable for you in that environment.
There is a charge for mat rental because after mats are used, they must be cleaned by hand with tea tree oil which is a time consuming and labor intensive process.

Bikram yoga can be expensive, but like any other activity (running requires shoes, golf requires clubs) there are costs involved. If you have ever taken Bikram yoga you would know that the cost of renting a mat is worth it - so much better than not having to clean and store your own sweaty mat!
You should try a class when it opens for business.
