Sidamo Coffee is Open!

IMG_3349
Please excuse the old photo (I don't have my camera on hand this morning).

417 H Street
Open 7am-7pm 7 days a week
They are currently working off a temporary menu, but they'll have expanded options soon. It's a very cute place with indoor, and outdoor seating. Sidamo is a family owned Ethiopian coffee and tea house. They have free WiFi! All their coffees are free trade and organic.

Yep definitely open! I know because little cards saying so have been blowing around the whole neighborhood for a few days now. Whoever they hired to canvas the neighborhood was too lazy to actually put them in the mail slots.

I was recently told that it is actually illegal to put flyers like this in mailboxes/mail slots.

I believe that's true...the mailbox is technically USPS property...or so I recollect.

My favorite Trinidad resident reports: "Sidamo was great. The people running the place are really friendly, Ethiopian hospitality. I got a complimentary pastry with my coffee. The owner showed me the back enclosed patio with about 5 tables. Soon they will roast there own coffee and sell the beans. The wireless is already up and running. They are still decorating & the menu is limited now, but it is looking very nice!"

I completely agree with all the positive comments--the owners are extremely nice, and the coffee is pretty reasonably priced (especially compared to Starbucks)!

Best,
