I have placed a call to the Reward Department of DCPS and I hope to have details soon on how neighbors can make donations and increase the reward amount. News will follow soon! This man looks like some kind of animal I hope both are found quickly!

Honestly, he looks familiar. I ffel like I've seen this guy on and around H St.

I've also posted information on my blog and sent a mass email to my constituent distribution list.
We cannot tolerate atrocities like this in our neighborhood and against our neighbors. My prayers and sympathy go out to the victims of this horrible crime.
Inked, please post information on how community members can contribute to increase the reward if you get this information. Thanks!
Best,
Alan Kimber

Ok. I won't make a comparison, but just read this from MPD, and look at the reward ...
Homicide in the 1800 Block of Central Place, NE
From MPD:
At approximately 12:30am, on Sunday, April 8, 2007, police were called to an apartment building located in the 1800 block of Central Place, NE, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival police located 56-year-old Robert Beidleman, Jr., of the above address, inside of an apartment suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds to the body. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene but could find no signs consistent with life. He was taken to the DC Medical Examiner’s Office and pronounced dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department’s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 202.727.9099.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

another very important distinction, the $25k reward requires arrest and CONVICTION while i believe the other reward for the rape suspect only requires arrest and INDICTMENT.
Apr 13, 2007 4:41:00 PM
oh crap! i missed that.
that's a huge distinction.
why would we want (as taxpayers) to arrest and convict a rapist and his sicko buddy for that amount?
yeah, it's better to just toss 1k for a lead.
maybe if they raped and killed her, we could look at that sum of money for a conviction.
but.. nah.. that's a lot of money for a raped chick.
you are definitely a "bruthah from anothah universe".
wait until you get screwed....
bad karma, bro.
Apr 13, 2007 8:47:00 PM
Just a question...does anyone really know who comes up with the actual amounts of those rewards?
and for you, brotha from another hood, INDICTMENT, CONVICTION, does it really matter?
Someone gets a reward of 25k for a DEAD guy. And someone gets 1K for a woman and her daughter (that watched the raped) and have to live the rest of their lives with that memory...
This is very f---ed up to me.
I think that if men got raped as much as women things would change...let's see these lawmakers prohibit abortion when their own daughters, sisters, mothers, wives get raped and pregnant by someone....and someone will get 1k for that....let's see if these lawmakers will find that enough...
Apr 13, 2007 10:57:00 PM
sarah and 8:47,
what the hell is wrong with you people? do you really think that's the point i was making? get a clue.
Apr 13, 2007 11:23:00 PM
gotcha bruthah.
didn't realize you were making a 'point'...
i think i kinda got ya...
Apr 14, 2007 1:21:00 AM
Let's try to keep it respectful please. I'm sure we're all very upset about this horrible crime and would like to see the offendors caught (and quickly).
Apr 14, 2007 8:52:00 AM
Sarah, far more men are raped in prison in the U.S. every year than women in any location. In fact, a man is raped every 3.5 seconds, while a woman is raped every 18 seconds in america.
Apr 14, 2007 3:54:00 PM
Whoa--what's with attacking "brotha" for pointing out the difference between the two statements? I'm fairly certain he wasn't the one that devised these policies; if you have issue, perhaps you should bring it up with the MPD. And there is a huge difference between indictment and conviction. I am thankful he was astute enough to point out this difference.
Apr 14, 2007 5:48:00 PM
i agree with sarah.
most of you people are very, very sad specimens of what some might call human beings.
shame on you.
Apr 15, 2007 11:59:00 PM
I left the Hill in 2003, but even I recognize this guy as a neighborhood regular. He is an H St. regular who hangs at the corner of 8th and H and is partial to peeing in the alley behind the bank. He can also be found loitering outside the Benning Road Safeway on occasion. The cops should know exactly who he his.
