NAPA 1015 Blog Review

A link to this review, from Mapgirl, was left in the comments, and I think it's worth a read so I'm reposting the link. NAPA 1015 is a fine dining restaurant located at 1015 H Street. Personally, I can't wait to try the brunch, but it will need to wait until I finish finals in May. Check out the menu for yourself.

Informative and interesting review! I will have to try the french toast.

I had excellent lobster on pasta last week for $20. The price seemed very reasonable to me.

i can't wait to hit this place this weekend.

on a different topic, there are three or four different joints that are being developed around the area. does someone have the link for a set of maps so we can map out the stuff that is being constructed around the area?

Here's a wiki map. You can move from this map to the surrounding areas.

We were also at Napa on Sunday for a late brunch (maybe we saw you there, not sure?).

I had the Eggs Bene, she had the same mushroom/asparagus/goat cheese omlette.

The omlette was very good. If anything, there was too much goat cheese. A little goes a long way. Homefries had an excellent texture, sometimes they are not cooked long enough. Agree that onions or garlic would be a nice touch, but that is a personal preference thing.

The eggs benedict was good. A bit skimpy on the hollendaise, but tasty.

The coffee: I love the service. I am a firm believer in cups and saucers, not a fan of mugs at brunch. So that was nice. But the coffee itself was somewhat burnt, not sure what they are brewing back there.

The servers were very friendly and all of that. Above average.

Cost: $12 for an entree at brunch isn't outrageous. I would definitely go back more often if it was closer to $10. But, it is a small place (seats maybe 40?) and food costs are rising. It is a fair price for a quiet and enjoyable brunch.

The coffee thing is definitely personal preference. I think it's awesome. There's something special about the French Toast, too. Mmmmmm.
They've changed the regular menu around again...I had the pork chop (it's much more than those two words convey) last time...very nice.

MapGirl's review is spot on! I really liked Napa 1015 for both brunch and dinner. Brunch was reasonable and on par with Tunnicliffs in price and quality. The midprice options on their dinner menu are also on par with 8th St. I know H isn't 8th, but it will be!

I am checking out Napa for brunch this weekend with some foodie-type friends - based solely on what I have read on Frozen Tropics.

Inked - Napa owes you for all the free advertising - thanks a million!

My wife and I went to Napa for the first time last night and had a great experience. The food is excellent. All the pub food on H Street is great but it is nice to have a "higher end" restaurant to go to. The owner and staff are very friendly and really want the neighborhood to enjoy their restaurant. Please give it a try!!!! All the best George. Kathy and Scott
