schedule?
stops?

The article says "30-minute headway schedule" - in other words, every 30 minutes.

The X2 runs about every 15 - 20 minutes in the evening, so it's not clear to me what the benefit of the shuttle will be. Yes, they say they will have fewer stops, but if you have to wait another 15 minutes to get on the shuttle, that seems like it would offset any extra speed.

One possible benefit would be if it actually stuck to a schedule, so you would only have to stand in the street for a minute or two.

NPM, apparently the benefit is that this service will be FREE!

And it's not the horrible X2!

Guarantee you, since it's free, the experience will end up being worse than the X2.

I wish someone from Tommy Well's office would confirm whether this will be a free ride or not and if so, what are the justifications for making it a free ride.

Any word on the stops?

I think the benefit of it is if it stays on schedule, you can come drink on H and say ok we gotta be at so-and-so street at X o'clock and you know you'll have a nice free ride to the metro. It might make more people willing to come check out H St.

The drawback is that unless the basic laws of economics have been repealed or I've missed some important piece of information, it won't stay nice *and* free for very long. Here's hoping I'm dead wrong.

I've yet to read an article telling where the stops on H ST are... Why is it so secret?

I overheard somebody talking about the shuttle at the Argo the other day. He seemed really excited, almost like this will be the catalyst H st needs to flourish. Not that it's not doing well already, but I hope the positive trends continue.

PS, the guy I referenced seemed to be a business holder (or at the very least, a stakeholder) on H. Sorry. Gossip. Whatever.

Well said, Rob.

And yeah, I'm with 8th and El. Why the big secret? It's like they are purposely not saying. I'm not going to ride something if I don't know where it's going/stopping.

Thank goodness it is skipping the 8th and H transfer point!

Sorry about that, Anacostia peeps making the X2 transfer from the 90/92 headed for Gallery Place to terrorize yuppies taking in the "urban" experience.
