Baltimore CP: Reclaiming Alleys With Art

P1010030_2
The Baltimore City Paper has an interesting piece on the Axis Alley project in Baltimore, and how it allows local residents and artists to transform neglected spaces.

I thought I'd use the occasion to post a few local alley shots from the past few years.

I see my house! The alley between Abbey and 4th.

Nice! Most, but not all of these alleys are in Trinidad. All of the photos, are from the archives, and some date back as far as 2005. One photo features a place that no longer exists in the same form. Can people ID the others?

I believe the alley with the van and the snow is the alley directly behind Florida Ave (between 12th and 13th). It looks like the building Dave Bernhardt is working on.

Elise-

I should send you some pics of our alley between 7th and 8th, immediately north of H to show you our "RESPECT" campaign to stop the urination in the alley. We're winning the battle!! Of course, public restrooms are the true solution to stopping alley peeing (especially alleys in the immediate vicinity of bus stops), but this is a start.

I've always loved that "Capitol Cab 119" photo. It loofs like a 70's album cover.

"7th and H said"... we need more information on your plan and how to be successful. Would you mind sharing details? I'm tired of eating dinner in my backyard and having to warn my wife to not turn around for a pleasant mid-pee view.

I'm actually pretty familiar with the plan in 7th & H's alley. I'll see if I can get some photos.
