I'll admit I didn't go to every link, but as usual I saw absolutely nothing showing what if any street parking will be left on H Street when the streetcar is up and running.
Anybody have a definitive answer on that? What I'm looking for is the number of street parking spaces that existed before the street car construction started, and the number that will exist after the streetcar is up and running.
I've asked several city officials this question and no one seems to want to answer.

@Hillman, most of the spaces that were there before will remain. Basically, all of the areas between the new bulb-outs.
However, if you remember, just a few years ago there was no street parking at all, in either direction, during commute hours. The full time street parking was only added in anticipation of this streetscape improvement.

It must be some weird coding thing. If you search for @DCStreetcar on Twitter it comes up. Looks like they've tweeted 9 times as of today.

The difference between Benning road and H-st street car tracks in the position. On Benning road the tracks are laid in the center of the road while on H-street on either sides. This is probably good idea as it will prevent people from double parking on H-st as they are so used to doing so prior to the construction of the tracks. Also, there are only 4 stops on the stretch between Union St and 15th street. That's a lot better than X2 which stops at each block. Guess the lazy people will just have to walk a few more blocks to get to their destination.

Will they eliminate stops on the X2 because of the Streetcars, or just double up on everything and it is a constant traffic jam? I hope the X2 becomes more like the X9 and push the Streetcar more.

I'm also pleased to see that there will only be a few stops along H st.
Does anybody know where the street car will drop passengers off near union station?
Jan 14, 2011, 11:08:00 PM
The streetcar will pierce through the center of the H Street bridge and stop at the intersection of H and 1st St NE. From there a connection will be made to Union Station/Metro via pedestrian tunnels.
You can see some of these (with hilarious photoshop jobs) in the first section of this PDF:
