DOG WALKERS NEEDED FOR GROWING CAPITOL HILL BUSINESS - GREAT P/T WORK!

The #1 pet retail store on Capitol Hill is expanding to offer dog walking and pet sitting services, and is seeking exceptional people to join our staff.

Are you a physically fit dog lover who enjoys the outdoors even in extreme weather? Are you looking for long term P/T work and can commit to work M-F between 10am-4pm for at least 3 consecutive hours (10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm shifts available) each day? Do you have either a car or bike that you can rely on for daily transportation?

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Live on or adjacent to Capitol Hill
-Ability to work a minimum of one shift listed above each day M-F and can commit to the position for at least one year
-Availability to work mornings, evenings and weekends a plus
-Comfortable walking dogs of all different sizes, breeds and temperments and an interest in learning about dog behavior
-Currently own a dog or have significant experience caring for dogs in either a professional or volunteer capacity
-Possess reliable transportation and a cell phone with daily access to the internet and a printer
-Must be reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff
-The desire to work outdoors in all types of weather and manage your own schedule effectively
-Have good references and be able to pass a criminal background check

COMPENSATION: New employees will earn $8 per 30 minute walk for one dog and $10.50 for two dogs which averages about $16-$18 per hour. There will be an opportunity for a raise after 6 months. Employees also receive a 10% discount in the Metro Mutts store so you can purchase quality food, treats, toys and other supplies for the canines and felines in your life at a very competitive price.
