Capitolbop: HR-57 Opening Delayed

Local jazz blog Capitolbop reports that inspection related delays have pushed back the anticipated opening date for HR-57. According to the post the final inspection should take place on Friday. So hopefully the club will be open and operating out of 816 H Street very soon.

Just in case you missed it:

Anwar Saleem, executive director of H Street Main Street, a nonprofit established in 2002, as a voice for businesses and residents along the H Street corridor, contends that the project appears to be a form of “forced urban gentrification,” the result of “unsophisticated city leaders” who have failed to understand economic revitalization.

“With the city’s plans to deal with the infrastructure on H Street, we were supposed to have had construction done in three phases, but all of a sudden they decided to tear up all the streets at one time and it has really hurt the businesses.”

I'll have to go there because I've heard a lot of people saying that it will be something amazing, I know they can't be wrong because they know about those things.
