Curious About the Renee?

Good value for sure especially if you drive to work. Just need to be comfortable with the location, which people are warming up to these days.

That place is 2 blocks from the trolly line..don't need to drive to work from there

Agreed, Anonymous. I wouldn't necessarily rent in this location, but I would definitely consider buying there.

the interior looks terribly cheap.
not worth it.

I would have to disagree with anon 10:26... those are ridiculously low prices in the DC market at prices making them accessible to a largely unserved market. Are they 750k condos... nope, but they look like good affordable options for folks.

Oh, it so gross and ugly and dirty down there. Anyway I could never leave my home on Stanton Park.

Anon 10:26-- a one bedroom is $149K. Did you miss that part?

For somebody who might be dropping $1300 on rent + utilities, this would be a great way to build some equity and eventually reclaim some of that income that evaporates in rent each month.

I've lived right near the condos for 6 years and the area is one of the best neighborhoods I have ever lived in. Sure, it's dirty and not very diverse, but many people who have lived own their homes and treat each other with respect. The proximity to the Arboretum, Safeway, the Capitol City Diner and Jimmy Valentine's make it a great option. I'm happy to talk to anyone interested in the area.

I've also lived around that corner for almost 6 years and can agree with John. While it's not very diverse (yet), you can't beat that location at those prices. Where else in the city can you get your own place at those prices with something like H street right in your back yard?
If condos aren't your thing there are houses for sale from the low to mid 200's right next door.

I don't know if it's considered right around the corner, but we live in Rosedale and walk up Bladensburg all the time-- the area is much better than its reputation suggests. The entire area just east of H (around the Starburst) is great IMO, and will only get better as the streetcar nears and places like The Flats take off. It's a great area to invest in, either in condos (these prices seem very fair) or in single family homes, which (as another poster mentions) can be had in fixer-upper condition starting in the mid-200s.

There are a lot of naysayers who think anything east of 14th Street isn't worth consideration. Go ahead and spend $500K+ for a house right on H; I'll buy something for half that a couple of blocks east for half that. I think both are good decisions, but we'll see who has more equity in 5 years.

6 years ago when I met with my real estate agent he told me to avoid the area north of Florida avenue (Trinidad).
Just last week I met with my new real estate agent and he advised me to avoid the area east of Bladensburg Road.
It's amazing how much can change in such a short period. Change is spreading further and futher out.
Lesson to you readers here: Realtards don't know shit.
