Fast Company: Where Old Subway Cars Find New Life

I thought we'd take a slight detour from the super local and visit more the transit/general urban interest stuff I used to cover a bit more. This particular Fast Company slide show concerns the final resting place of New York's subway cars. MTA's used cars are sunk beneath surface off the coast of the Atlantic and serve as artificial reefs that nurture marine life. I hope this provides an interesting mental image for the next time you step through Metro's closing doors.  [Via Planetizen.]
