Uplifting and funny, or serious and grief-stricken, A Thousand Words captures the real people and the real emotions that come with breast cancer. We promise that this will be an exhibit you will never forget.

Washington, DC tops the nation in breast cancer related deaths, 65% higher than the national average. It does not discriminate, and it isn’t a sexist disease. It can affect anyone, anywhere, at any time in our lives. We sincerely hope you will join us as we celebrate and honor the faces and stories surrounding breast cancer – in A Thousand Words.

All the money from ticket sales go directly to Capital Breast Care Center. Please make sure you bring your ticket/email confirmation to the event for entry.

Has anyone seen the following email from Kathy Henderson or otherwise heard of this meeting? wouldnt it be helpful to invite some of the judges who are letting these kids go with slaps on the wrist?

Juveniles continue to drive the crime rate in the District of Columbia. What provisions does the District have to deal with juvenile crime and are they working? We will have a roundtable discussion with Neil Stanley, Interim Director of the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services and hear his vision for moving the agency forward. Councilmember Phil Mendelson will also participate in this discussion regarding the juvenile crisis in the District of Columbia. Do you believe parents should be held accountable for their children who commit violent crimes and other offenses?

This discussion will not be complete without your participation; we really need to hear from You. This roundtable discussion will convene at the 5D Court Watch meeting on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. The location is the community room in the Fifth District Police Headquarters, located at 1805 Bladensburg Road, NE. Do not miss this opportunity to be heard.
