a better way to show appreciation for the neighborhood would be to quit having their valets park cars on our streets. The least the bridge and tunnel crowd can do is circle around for their own damned spots. Thank god for my center punch!

Who are the commenters on this blog? These folks are the worst. Just non stop bitching and moaning. Smith isn't really my thing, I'm more of a Pug dude, but gee whiz. Get a life or a wife or a beer or whatever will help you fools stop attacking taxpayers who are helping increase all our property values. If you want to live alone, get in a car and drive west. If you want to live in the city, STFU and live.

syntax. ur doing it wrong.

so the event on the 3rd floor is from 6-9 but I only have from 6-7 to fight for free bar food. just sayin, it's a good idea anyway but not as generous as the argo's neighborhood deal

What type of Oysters PEI, Raspberry points, Kumamotos?

Where are all of these self righteous "rah" "rah" commenter coming from? The people are just the very worst. Just non stop give up your piece and quiet of your home and parking space to the drunk rowdies from Bowie and Arlington so that they can have an edgy experience in the ghetto. We do have a life, and don't have to be in a drunk stupor to enjoy it.

Is it really a big deal to give free bar snacks for one hour to people who live in the right zip code and pay 7 or 8 bucks (or more?) for a glass of beer?

You don't have "a parking space". This is the city. It's for people to live their lives in, not so you can have a guaranteed parking spot. If guaranteed parking is a priority for you, perhaps you should convert your back yard. Or buy a space somewhere.

Nice, nothing is better than really good beer in cans.

At least they are trying!

Drunk rowdies from Bowie and Arlington are valet parking in order to have a ghetto experience at...Smith Common? Hmmm.

Well it's always an experience reading the comments at Frozen Tropics!

Anonymous @ 5/11/11 @ 6:35:00, you said it! I for one am in favor of anything that increases my property's value, because lord knows I'm only in this edgey hot spot long enough to sell out and move to Herndon or Reston. It's not like I'll ever be here long enough to pay property taxes! Hah!

And since I play the part of the ideal DC resident while I'm living here, I Bikeshare everywhere. Lord knows I never drive a car to carry anything like groceries, furniture or... things, so who needs to park near their house ever?

Leave the parking spaces to the good samaritans who pay the tax on their bar tabs. That is the least we can do for those good people who wisely choose to DRIVE to the places where they DRINK!!! Walking, busriding and taxiriding is for sissies and sober people.

If the people who live in the 'hood want to park where they live, let them move to the SUBURBS. Yeah!

Took the family to Smith Commons for dinner this past Saturday. Four adults ordered four different entres and everyone enjoyed what they had (the kids scarfed down the burger). In addition to the menu online, they have a separate menu of entres that rotates on a weekly basis, so there is variety as well. The wine & beer selection was good, and the space is quite nice. Check it out.
