Khan's Appetizers, or Korean Tacos on H Street

Kahns_Menu_Appetizers

I'm most excited about the Korean Tacos, Korean pizza, and the veggie dumplings. Khan's is located at 1125 H Street.

they need a two plate option. first for 12, second for 6.

I'm a bit confused. Are these new options on the menu? If so, I like that they are leaning in the direction of a chef-driven menu.

The appetizer menu is a recent addition.

I've yet to check this place out. Anyone here a fan?

Too salty for me, and the Monoglian sword thing is more suburban mall gimmick than hip urban dining concept. Appetizers seem like an improvement, but don't know if I'd go back.

" the Monoglian sword thing is more suburban mall gimmick "

i have no idea what this means.

Apparently suburban malls are riddled with sword-wielding Mongolians? Everything on H has a gimmick. I just want to know whether the food is good.

Its pretty good. I feel like it might actually be a not unhealthy option. Its just a ton of vegetables cooked with meat in a sauce. Who knows what is in the sauce, but it can't be that bad especially if you go light on it. I think I had one sauce that was salty, but others aren't. There are like 8 to choose from.

Reasonably priced, fast, not horrible for you. I think they had pretty good cheap beer specials too

5:07,
thanks,
so why should we be deprived of this experience? the menu looks good. if they have swords, all the better.

I haven't tried the place yet and wasn't really interested until they added new items. I'm just not into designing my own dish and having someone toss it on a hot surface. But if the new items are good, I might be sold.

Went once and that was enough for me...okay. Prefer pho

sure, and why should we be deprived of a pf chang's or a sbarro? maybe we can get a ruby tuesdays like columbia heights. or something that has those "blooming onions" -- ah, the deprivation! if only H street were more like an airport food court!

don't understand how tasty, unique and affordable places like taste of jamaica (made by actual jamaicans!) take crap from people who've never been there while this mediocre ethnic kitsch gets a pass. maybe you think your fried salad bar items improve when some bored central american gentlemen push it around a hot plate in front of you.

Regardless of what you think of the food (I'm a fan), they do have some of the best cheap beer specials in the city. $1 Natty Boh's at happy hour and $2 all other times. I think Miller Lite is only $2 too. You can't beat that in DC.

I'm a fan of this place. It's really more of a very good sports bar with Mongolian BBQ/stir fry as the food offering.

Excellent beer and wine selection, knowledgeable & friendly staff, huge high def television for sporting events.

The food is a tad expensive for what it is, but you can make it healthy-- I've had some bowls here that are basically noodles, half a pound of broccoli, and chicken. A good alternative to the typical gut-wrenching fried and fatty bar food.

The place will be even better when they open their huge outdoor seating area this weekend.

10:49,
is Khan's a chain? i didn't know that. is it mediocre? i haven't tried it yet. have you?
i've never been to taste of Jamaica, nor have i ever judged it.

what are fried salad bar items?

12:55,
Khan's is not a chain. I think 10:49 was referring to the chain places he/she mentioned (Sbarro, P F Chang's, ect.).

I don't know how gimmicky it is. It is effective. I get my food quick and get exactly what I want.
