How's the Argonaut doing these days? I haven't been back since the fire. I heard they have a new chef? or HAD a new chef? New beers? Not much talk about it, perhaps with all the new joints opening up.

If anything, the Argonaut's gotten better since the fire. The new layout works great, everything is shiny/new, and the indoor/outdoor bar is pretty sweet.

As far as I can tell, the menu's the same, although the quality of the food seems to have risen. The beer selection's pretty extensive, and the service remains "laid back but attentive."

It's probably my favorite spot on H St to grab a casual meal/drink.

Yeah, I'm an even bigger fan of the Argonaut post-fire.

I have always loved the argonaut. It's hard not to love it more with the re-design. Also, the food seems to be generally of a higher quality these days. That being said, I find the new menu to be a bit sparse...they eliminated a lot of the items that I really liked on the old menu. They have been replaced by the new seafood offerings...but it could be just a personal preference, but I don't really want to eat a big steamer bucket of shrimp/crab legs more than a couple of times a year. As a result, I find myself ordering the exact same item or two every time I eat there --- either the tacos or the pasta special. The lack of variety makes me end up wanting to eat at the Argonaut less. Bear in mind, I probably still eat there once or twice a month. However, I used to eat there far more often under the old menu.

In any event, I still love the place...just wish there were a few more items on the menu.

I love the Argonaut. It's better now than ever-- great menu, better beer selection, awesome patio, etc.

This Wednesday we were out on H around 1030 and wanted something to eat. Practically all kitchens were closed, but we were still able to have a nice sit down dinner at the Argonaut. It's a neighborhood icon, now more than ever.

I like the Argo as an easy go-to neighborhood place....I don't usually go there for a "big night out" meal so I agree that some of the menu items are a bit less appealing to me than before. I've asked the Argo folks to add a Turkey burger to the menu a few times, kinda as the grab something easy to eat option instead of cooking at home...but no dice so far. I even also leave the request on my signed CC receipt too. Luckily, Cap City Diner tho has a good turkey burger so I just usually find myself going there instead, and now with the outdoor patio....nearly Argo-esque!

We are in the process of making some ajustments to the menu or be on the look out for that.

As for the turkey burger request, this is the first I have heard about it. I will be doing a little reasurch as to why that is but it could be an option. I will take a look at some rescipes and play alittle to see if its feasable to do.
