Yarn Bombing at Jimmy Valentine's

knitin

Calling all knitters and yarn enthusiasts! Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club will be participating CHAMPS’  next ARTventures on H (6/30) in quite a unique way.

They’re letting us YARN BOMB them!

Now, this is no small feat, so we need your help! In order for us to seriously bomb the place, we need as many knitters as possible to create hearts (in any shade of pink or red). And to make it worth your while, we’ll be holding two special KNIT-INs to get ready for this massively awesome installation. You’re a knitting novice, you say? No worries; we’ll learn you real quick.

On Monday June 27 from 8pm-10pm, stop by Jimmy Valentine’s at 1103 Bladensburg Road and knit a heart to plaster on the front of the building. Patterns and some yarn will be provided, but bring your needles (and um, maybe some yarn) if you have ‘em!

Can’t make it to the Knit-In? No problem. We’d still love you to participate by knitting a heart (in any shade of pink or red) to donate to the cause.

If you have any questions or would like more information, email Julia Christian, CHAMPS Executive Director at champs[at]capitolhill.org or Beth Baldwin, Queen of Knitting Awesomeness at tigerflight[at] gmail.com.
