Is TruOrleans planning on repairing the sidewalk in kind? They poured black pavement over the utility lines they dug up. I don't mean to be nitpicky, but it looks like sh*t.

I dont know who actually did the digging. I doubt TO could just start tearing up the sidewalk without some kind of approval. It seems to be the case around here that when some kind of utility work tears up a sidewalk, the black pavement is put down only temporarily until bricks or whatever are reinstalled weeks (a month or two?) later

In a month or two when the sidewalk isn't reinstalled, who should I address?

Man, that is my block and how it has changed...that old Mustang has been hauled away along with another really old car that was sitting near it. Times are a changin'

Truorleans didn't tear up the sidewalk, Pepco or Washington Gas did. Per procedure they refill with temporary pavement and it's DC's responsibility to come back out and reinstall the pavers. This has been the procedure for as long as I've lived in the city. Contact Tommy Wells and find out if a work order has been issued yet rather than complaining about it on a blog.

Ro is wrong, and rude.

The building owner, not Pepco or Washington Gas, is responsible for replacing the sidewalk using the original materials.

Anonymous 4:19 is wrong, and clearly a new transplant from Iowa or Arkansas. Check your facts before posting your inane banter. Thanks in advance.

Also, would you anonymous cowards please pick a handle.... even if you're embarassed of the stupid choice you make, due to you're lack of creativity or familiarity with the INTERNET. Strayer's has classes for the likes of you.

Thanks in advance, although I doubt many of you paranoid f@ckers will ever get a grip.

Gotcha!

DDOT will require that the property owner make the necessary repairs. Pepco simply runs a conduit to the existing duct bank and covers it with pavement.

I agree with the original poster (Anon 1:23). Whomever is responsible for the repair should hurry up and complete it. The city spent a tremendous amount of money on new sidewalks (which look fantastic!). It's a shame that they got ripped up in front of TruOrleans so quickly.

New for sale sign went up on the corner of 13th and I...wonder how much they are asking and they have only been around for a year or so..

here's a total random nitpick comment, but something that bothers me each time i travel down the new H Street: from 3/4th Street area until 9th Street-ish there is a triple yellow line in the center of the street. Not quite sure why the construction folks couldn't line it properly. Any suggestions on who's the best entity at this stage to nag about getting it fixed?

I live in the house on 13th and I that is for sale. We've been there for four years, thanks, and are moving to be closer to family. You can look up the listing on the internet. It's public.
