Tru Orleans Grand Opening July 15-17th
It's official folks. Stop by Tru Orleans (400 H Street) and check it out. The first 50 tables (total bill must equal $50, or more) get a free gift bag. They'll also have giveaways, and caricature artists.

So they have a two drink minimum on the bag giveaway?
Just don't try to order the drink they only serve on the "veranda" on Thursdays from 2 to 4pm - apparently they'll ask you to leave? The entire place seems like a Disney version of a New Orleans restaurant to me.

not one to talk smack but after seeing that menu, you couldn't pay me to go there
I want to try it before I praise or pan, but dang their menu is expensive.
Okay, I have to admit, the place does look great. Props for what appears to be a nice, dramatic, and speedy renovation of a real eyesore of a corner.
But yeah, the prices are crazy. I will stop in to see what the place is like, but there's no way I'm eating there.
