That article was awafel. What's up with that part about the US not being on good terms with Lebanon? I understand we're no fans of Hezbollah, but Lebanon as a whole? Really?

Yeah, that article was pretty bad. Not sure what Lebanon has to do with the Cuban Missile Crisis. Also, French Fry sandwiches are actually very common in Lebanon even if they aren't "traditional" food.

Skipped the article but two thumbs up for Shawafel based on our first experience.

How about a meat version meat version of the french fry sandwich? That might be extra good. It would be like those Primanti sandwiches in Pittsburgh with the fries and slaw, except these will have flavor and be good.

The meat will at least provide some worhtwhile nutrients and protein to justify the caloric expense

My only beef with Shawafel - guys, you have to increase the portions! For 7.50, I wan't MORE SANDWICH! The sandwich itself is good, there's just not enough of it. MORE! Thank you.

Had a great sandwich there last week. Workers were very friendly as well. Asked for fries in my beef shwarma and he put them in at no cost. Ask and you shall receive!

Some are, some aren't. If you actually maintain an active lifestyle, and don't spend all your time sitting on your ass in traffic, you can eat real food.

DC residents are actually the least obese in the country (http://www.tbd.com/articles/2011/07/d-c-obesity-rate-remains-low-compared-to-the-rest-of-america-63324.html) even with the District's high poverty rate.
