HSGS: Po Boys Kitchen Applies for Liquor License

H Street Great Street beat me to the punch on the story on a new restaurant that hopes to come to 709 H Street. Po Boys Kitchen, which (unsurprisingly) will serve po-boy sandwiches, has just applied for a liquor license (a CR). This would be the first sitdown restaurant on a block that's home to carryouts like Crown Fried Chicken (I'm told it's some of the best chicken on H Street), Grace Deli (actually a real deli menu), and Major's (my pick for best Chinese food on H Street). This is just more evidence that the gap between developments on the east and western ends of the Corridor is beginning to close.

Ugh, ANC needs to stop giving out liquor licenses. I wish the would open a pot belly so I could get a decent sandwich.

Fantastic news! I hope they get the license and set up shop. This part of H Street hasn't seen nearly the growth the east and west ends have.
