why are people so hateful and small-minded? It's Elise's freaking blog, not the damn Washington Post. If she wants to talk about the Meat Puppets, she has every right to talk about the Meat Puppets. Read it if you want, go about your business if you don't. Either get a life or get your own blog. If your opinions are steeped in this kind of negativity, it's pretty obvious that you currently have neither.

Ha ha. "real job".....good one.

So sorry you're dissatisfied with this neighborhood blog. To quote William F Buckley, "cancel your own goddamn subscription."

I for one welcome any Meat Puppet related news that comes my way.

i live the MP, i'm speaking about the blog in general. it used to be more active and informative. PoP is where it's at these days. i'm just wondering why FT has gotten so lame. is it because it's a conflict of interest for elise to post stuff here, as opposed to her editorial stint? did she get married? a real job? is she "busy"? I just hate wasting my time checking the blog for little in return. just as some of you ding dongs are entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine. you "late adopters" should check the archives. it used to be pretty interesting around FT. I'm just saying....

Yep Elise should be posting stories about million dollar houses, pet photos every day, and the door, garden or something of the day. We cool people know that's where it's at. Not. Thank you but I'll stick with FT.

jonathon,
I get busy. I've had a read job most of the time that I've been writing FT. I do get busy. I own a house, I do stuff relating to the neighborhood. I also do actually have a social life. It's not a conflict with the Hillrag article unless it's a time issue. But it does mean that I have to interview people, and that takes time. I also do stuff relating to the blog that you might not clearly see reflected here. For example, I just got out of a meeting with some property owners on H Street who purchased a building in the 1300 block of H Street, and also own the Autozone property. We discussed the issues and challenges with developing that parcel. On Saturday I'm leading a small private tour group (including some local journalists) through the Florida Market. Important stuff for the area, and the blog, but it won't necessarily get a blog post. Instead, it will impact how local journalists cover the Market area.

Dan Silverman writes Prince of Petworth as his fulltime job. This is definitely a side gig for me. That's going to be reflected in the frequency and depth of posting. I like to do more original content, but It's really just an issue of time. I have also been working up in Tenleytown for most of the past year (thankfully, I'm not back downtown), and the commute cut into my H Street time.

Inked--very well said and with admirable restraint, I might add. Jonathan--you're a tremendous slouch. I love FT, as do the vast majority of regular readers. Many also enjoy PoP, among other DC blogs. Naturally, you're free to express your disappointment with Elise and her blog. And we are free, in turn, to think very poorly of you and your odd compulsion to flaunt such misguided criticism. She does yeoman's work spending her own time and energy gathering these tidbits for us, for which she gets nothing in return. The least we readers can do is show a modicum of respect and gratitude. You are a sad little man. And we all see it.

+1 Elise.

The blog is top notch and frequently updated (haven't you always had a real job, just graduated law school etc?) given your time constraints. Thanks again.

h street landlord,
I also worked all through law school (sometimes more than one job at once), and I also served as an ANC and helped found a non-profit while in school. So, I might have a slight over-commitment problem.
