Sherwood Rec Volunteer Day Saturday

Sherwoodvolunteerflyer3

The Sherwood Neighborhood Volunteers is having our fall work session at the Sherwood Recreation Center (640 10th St NE) this Saturday, October 22, 10 am - 1 pm. We'll be planting bulbs, weeding, mulching, and doing other fall cleanup activity. Would you help us spread the word and encourage neighborhood partiicpation? Sidamo is helping us provide coffee and breakfast treats.

Neighbors, can anyone shed some light on what activities take place at Sherwood? (inside I mean!). The DC gov website doesn't list much useful information about the offerings. Are there classes that are offered, what type of recreation? Thanks!

They have a low keyed gym. Lots of programs for young teens, and a lots of meeting rooms for the seniors across the street. When it was built, it was decided that blacks don't swim so there wouldn't be a pool.
