I just read in the Post that a woman was stab to death in her home on 23rd Place, NE. It was a tough weekend for the Kingman Park neighborhood. I'm sorry for the families and the neighbors!

Where are the police these days? Hopefully they are not all downtown watching the Occupy people. There is no police visibility around here anymore.

they were out giving tickets for talking on cell phones while driving through barracks row instead.

It's all park police at occupy, so save the concern trolling. Bad economies and unemployment always result in increases in crime, so we should focus on solving those problems.

Still, there have been 5 homicides between Bladensburg and the Anacostia River, south of the Arboretum in the last 3 weeks (according to my crime report: https://www.crimereports.com/). I do think it's worth asking if the police are upping their presence in the area with this uptick (but preferably without sarcasm - if we want them around, it's probably best to ask them nicely and with sincerity, like we actually want to work with them to create a better community - just sayin). Summer was relatively calm compared to the last couple weeks.
