Actually this sounds exciting.

Interesting, and I love Pakistani cuisine, but I still miss Naby's Island. Their ackee and saltfish were reason enough to get there early on Saturdays to make sure you could order it before they ran out.

If Seinfeld taught us anything, it is that a Pakistani restaurant is bound to fail.

Is this like Afghan food? If it is similar to Kabob Palace in Crystal City, I will be happy

Nice to know there is brick under all that stone I see out there on other buildings/houses

good idea, take off the exterior to expose the ugly bricks underneath, hopefully they put on nicer stone or some futuristic siding(not vinyl)

THANK YOU for taking down the formstone!!!!

It's not like Afgan food, more like Indian. There's decent Pakastani food at Attish on Pennsyvania SE. They deliver too.

Some places, like Ravi Kebab, in Arlington, serve Northwestern Pakistani (Peshawari) cuisine which is very similar to Afghan. Think heavy on the kebab and karahi.

What I find to be interesting is a Kitchen/Bath Design-Build company is doing the construction work. It is just an interesting choice to pick for this type of work. You never know what the end result will be. It looks like the whole building will be re-done.

YESSS! I hate formstone.

Does formstone provide any extra insulatation? Cheaper thn repointing the bricks? Just wondering why people put it on.

Pakistan *was* part of India, why wouldn't it taste like Indian food? Americans really need to travel more. Afghan food? SMH.

"Americans really need to travel more"... or google, "Pakistani cuisine"

Did anyone else notice that Capitol Hill Towers @ 900 G Street just sold for $22 million? What is up?

interesting news about capitol hill towers. that is a pretty large plot of land. the building is big but there is a lot of lawn and a parking lot. i wonder if it was bought with redevelopment in mind and if there are any restrictions because it is an old folks home.

it appears to be about the same size footprint as that building on the south side of the 600 block of H St that was sold at twice the price or more a couple months ago.

Formstone was a fad with great salesmen. Nothing more, nothing less. It was supposed to transform your tired brick pile into a beautiful castle. Insulating valued was not part of the sales pitch.

What's going to happen to the scary-looking turret on this building? It's always looked like it's been about to simply slide off of the building.

John,

Are you saying that googling what Pakistani food tastes like is a substitute for actually visiting Pakistan and eating the food there? Wow. I've got to get out of this country.

The point was, there are (far) more overlaps between Pakistani cuisine and Indian cuisine than Pakistani cuisine and Afghan cuisine.

Instead of trying to google that, why don't you visit Pakistan? SMH.

"i wonder if it was bought with redevelopment in mind and if there are any restrictions because it is an old folks home."

I don't think the zoning code has a designation for "senior living" that would prohibit a buyer from changing the use.

Pretty sure if someone put $22 million down and there's nothing to stop them from changing the use, those seniors are going to have to find a new place to live.

Haha this condescending Anon is unreal. Yes, please, get out of this country. You seem completely insufferable.

Play nice guys.

Or here is a better idea: Lets take a hike along the Iraq/Iran border!

Newsflash: Americans arent too popular in Pakistan. I guess a few billion in aid each year just doesnt buy you what it used to.

is this the restaurant with the planned outdoor patio space where currently a thriving drug business is conducted? excellent!
