Thrillist: Boundary Road Opening Soon

Thrillist reports that the H Street eatery Boundary Road (414 H Street) is aiming for a soft opening next weekend. Their website is only a splash page right now, so you will probably want to check out their Facebook page. The Facebook page describes the cuisine as both new, and traditional, American fare. You can actually see the opening menu on H Street Great Street. Appetizers run from $5-16, and entrees are $14-22. It sounds like they have some pretty interesting cocktails as well.

Saw a lot of people in there a couple night ago when going by on the D8. Thought they might be having a soft opening then. Looks ready to go.

Looks nice but a little pricey. Is H St really going to be this expensive going forward?

Happy to see the progress said...

Really, dt? There are PLENTY of options for everyone all along H Street, with lots of different price-points. This one happens to be a nice sit-down restaurant. I say, "Welcome to the neighborhood!" This is a massive improvement over the vacant and boarded up space which has festered there for many years. I hope LOTS more nice places just like this continue to open up -- especially at the West end of H Street, where it appears fewer bars and more neighborhood establishments are taking root.

Relax happy, it's just a comment. I said it looks nice. The food is probably delicious. I'm sure I will be eating there soon, and if it's good I will be back. I was just noting that it seems like prices are rising with each new place that opens and wondering if that was the trend.

One of the appealing aspects of H St was that it was a little cheaper than the more established 'hoods such as Dupont. It seems to me that this is changing, and I was wondering if anybody else felt that way. Don't take it personally.

Funny, one of the appealing aspects of H Street to me was that you could actually afford a house nearby, and it had potential to become an established 'hood like Dupont--thereby driving the value of my house into the stratosphere.

Slowly but surely distributors are raising their prices. Since opening the pug in 2007, I would say that my alcohol prices have gone up 20% (roughly). I still have a ton of $3 beers, but it's getting harder and harder. I think a wide variety of price points is good for h, so to keep something's cheap, I like to charge a lot for trendy stuff like fat tire. If I could figure it out, I'd like to charge Virginians more as well. It would be our little secret.
