The City Paper notes that the lackluster 78 room Quality Inn (501 NY Ave) located behind the Florida Avenue Market might give way to an eight story hotel. The eight story structure would boast 216 rooms and extended stay options, as well as overnight rooms.

A better quality hotel than the "quality" inn?
It always cracks me up when I'm going through the FL Ave market and see bewildered looking tourists schlepping their suitcases from the metro to those motels on NY Ave.

not a bad business idea, a decent hotel close to the metro, eventually the location will be envied.
