Tom Sietsema Checks Out Boundary Road

I'd imagine that newcomer Boundary Road (414 H Street) must be getting quite the bump following a visit by President, and First Lady, Obama last week. Now they've also got a favorable First Bite write up from Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema. Sietsema's made it clear that he's a fan of Ethiopic (LINK PLAYS MUSIC, 401 H Street), and the Atlas Room (1015 H Street).

Oh, and they just launched lunch service today (11am-3pm). They posted a twitpic of the menu.

Glad they're doing well, but to be short, Tom Seitsema dosen't matter. This is another example of another of his strange musings. "I've yet to study the menu, but..." I'm sorry isn't that your job? Aren't you there to study menus, eat food, and opine?

Robby,
It sounds like he does look at the menu immediately after that. He eats the food, and offers an opinion. Not sure else you are wanting from a First Bite.

Inked,

You and others laude him, I just quoted an excerpt from him. I don't know what it sounds like, I do know how it read. I'm sorry if I don't share your religious ferver for this one food pundit. In this regard I'm an atheist I suppose. You can't in other posts say his columns are important and then here cop out to " Not sure else you are wanting from a First Bite" If he's the great Tom, then I expect from him no less than I expect from Roger Ebert regarding a film. The best food BS money can buy.

Here we have mindless pablum from a man who ate somewhere. Pardon if I don't genuflect.

However, you and others I'm sure, will write some caustic snipping response. To quote the country sound, "I've come to expect that ..."

Robby,
First Bite is what TS calls his early appraisal of a place. He goes back for the full review later.

Yawn, try your pablum about his pablum with someone who cannot think. He's a waste of space, and frankly...

Well, let's just say, if the leaders are weak, the followers are weaker.

Oh wait, that just my opinion....

Time to put the internet down and go outside, Robby.

Hmm, and they beging, the cowardly attacks.

Save the condescending remarks for someone who really isn't as well equipped as I am.

Or, No I will not sit down, shut up, and color.

You can... well I wont use colorful language, because, like you, it's beneath me.

Duces,

Robby -- I love it when you call other people condescending. You're the most condescending poster on here.

Morning Chris:

Here?

Robby, it is important to read with context. The phrase following your ellipses is relevant to understanding the meaning of the sentence. He was essentially saying that he began to enjoy the restaurant before he even looked at the menu. This was a compliment on the non-culinary virtues of the restaurant. It was not saying that he gave the review without studying the menu. Reread the sentence. Can you see that now?

Robby's not interested in seeing anything other than another opportunity to lash out...it's his style, he's not generally into nuance or being thorough or attempting to actually KNOW what he's talking about. He's just looking to snipe. It's a shame there hasn't been a groupon for an Anger Management course lately, he probably can't afford one at full price.

Oh look, here he comes again:

Robby, you owe Inked a little more respect. Sometimes I agree with her, sometimes not, but if you disagree at least show her the respect you clearly won't show other posters on this forum. It's sad that a stranger has to point this out to you but I know she's too nice a host to moderate you appropriately. Just because its an open forum, doesn't mean you should take advantage by sniping at her or anyone who disagrees with you.

yay, i'm not robby!

Poo, when we're feeling insecure, or maybe haven't had a good breakfast, and need to make ourselves feel better by feeling entitled or superior to a bunch of strangers we don't even know, we're ALL Robby. Thankfully, so far on this string, only Robby is Robby.

Seek help if you feel it coming on. Don't be a Robby.

Sorry for not responding. I was working . Not really planning to, this is about
opinions. I don't owe any additional respect. Its Inked's blog she can censor. Not going to change, Your opinions of me, like Toms about food, don't matter. As I said congrats to new place, and I wish them well.

Robby,

The fact is you read it wrong. You thought you caught something stupid and immediately started commenting on it without reading further. At least I hope that is what you did because your reading comprehension would need improvement otherwise.

Maybe sometimes your observations or assumptions about whatever controversial topic you are discussing are correct. Sometimes I think you are a drama queen. for many of these topics I can't put myself in your shoes and see what you see. However, your overreaction to that line doesnt help you dispel views that you are a drama queen. No matter whose shoes I am in I can read that paragraph correctly and know he was simply trying to make acomment about the appearance of the place

Maybe Im too busy playing basketball. Truth is , I read rather well, but your insults are basic and say more about u than me. If you really take issue, Ill be at Sticky Rice soon, I can buy u a beer and discuss. My point is still valid, think for your self.
