WJLA: Dogs From Attack Euthanized

WJLA reports that the two dogs who targeted three children on Queen Street Friday night have been euthanized. The dogs originally approached a group of three children (ranging in age from 10-13 years), and chased two of the children onto the roof of a nearby car. A man ran up to the dogs (who continued to bark and lunge at the children) with a knife and engaged them. They bit him about the arms and hands. Neighbors managed to fight the dogs off before they could maul the man further.

An officer in PG County responded to a report, and was approached by the dogs in a threatening manner. He shot one of the dogs (one was already severely injured) and injured it. One of the dogs jumped into the open car door of the officer's cruiser. Both dogs were subdued, and later euthanized. It was not until later that the officer recognized the dogs in the video of the Trinidad attack. Here's hoping the owner(s) face prosecution.

Oh my God. Those poor animals. I can't believe how cruel some people can be.

find the owner and euthanize them too!

I agree with the above comments. It is in no way the dogs' fault that they had at best a neglectful owner and at worse a very abusive owner. I feel terribly sorry for them. Unfortunately they are probably better off now. Hope they find the scumbag owners and throw the book at them.

The poor dog owner. Clearly his or her neglect of these dogs, who attacked the children, was a product of a deprived and abusive upbringing that led to the irresponsible and neglectful raising of these dogs. I really feel for the neglectful owner, there's really nothing that they could do.

See what I did there?

Right, the pet can go to counseling for their problems.

So, wait... DC police don't respond to the many 911 calls for the event in DC, and fail to get there to take action, leaving neighbors to fend for themselves. Meanwhile, the same thing happens in PG with the same dogs and PG County is able to subdue and euthanize the dogs?

Those poor animals?? They were chasing young children and biting adults. Where's the sympathy for them?
