Help Raise Money For June Lim's Family

9672b5da75fa41679dfdfbae2b83724d
June Lim, the 64 year old business owner who was murdered as she opened Grace Deli one recent morning, was the sole provider for her husband. Her husband is in poor health, and her family is now struggling financially. The home she lived in is going through a short sale, and money is very tight. The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of DC and friends are raising funds to help.

Her murder remains unsolved, but the motive is thought to have been robbery.

Can't make the PSA 104 meeting tonight but I hope someone asks if they have an update on the investigation into this and the face shooting incident.

I went to the meeting and the rep from the US attorneys office stated emphatically that they could not discuss ANY details of the Mrs. Lim murder investigation but that they were making it a top priority. As for the increase in gunfire activity and that crazy 50 rounds fired on 8th and L a few night ago (so much so that I thought they were fireworks...they weren't!), they know who did the shoooting and who was being shot at, but are unable (??) to arrest or detain anyone without a complaint and ID from the intended target. The police rep said the gunfire was due to a "beef" between two arguing "groups". REALLY? we are calling them "groups" now? he also called them "kids". sorry, but a 17year old drug dealer with a gun who fires 50 rounds into houses and people and cars is not a kid. he's a thug. not a kid...a THUG!
love my neigborhood but i am frustrated!

I hear you Heyktb. Just hang on. The more young, middle class homeowners that move into the neighborhood, the better it's going to get. The thugs will be pushed out. It can't happen soon enough, but it is happening.

Thanks for sharing this, inked. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lim family. I hope they can raise enough funds to really help out and make a difference.
