I wish I didn't have a real job and could wander around H St in the middle of the night taking pictures.

I, for one, am shocked to hear someone from DC inflate the import of thier job - someone commenting on FT in the middle of the workday, mind you.

what is a "real" job?

Sounds like Anon 1:42 has some serious bitterness built up. Sorry about that, bro.

You know, some of us live around H St. I could spend 5 minutes outside my front door and take that same photo any night of the week. Not sure how that affects my job performance...

A real job is like porn, I know it when I see it. Working in a shop, bartending, tattoo artist, please see example of not real jobs.

Wow, Anon 1:38, you're a real douchebag.

And according to my grandmother you are not "grown up" or "settled down" until you're married with children. But pretty sure if you're making money--it's a "real" job.

1:38 is just jealous because his job is meaningless and soul sucking. the only way he can feel better about himself and his life is to put others down. sure he might have 4 degrees and might make 100k a year, but it's at a cost. the bartender or tattoo artist makes pennies compared to that, but who has the more fulfilled life? who's to judge? if you're making money, you've got a real job. that's fact.

just another dc snob. a dime a dozen.

People who work in the service industry most definitely have real jobs, but also real chores as they have to deal with pains like 1:38...

1:42,
I'm curious what kind of "real" job you have that keeps you busy at 10:30pm on a Friday night. Is it nanny? Because that would explain your preoccupation with other people's business.

Well, that might be a good word for it since I'm busy taking care of that type of person with my tax dollars. What a drain on society these people are.
