Florida Ave Market Tour Saturday

IMG_3043

I won't be there as I will be at the H Street Festival all day, but Richard Layman of Rebuilding Place in the Urban Space (we have lead multiple Market tours together) will co-lead a tour of the Florida Market along with Paul and Brenda Pascal. Mr. Pascal is the "Market Lawyer," and Mrs. Pascal's family has owned property in the Market for decades. They are both a wealth of knowledge about the area. Here's hoping they conduct another tour soon.

The tour group meets at 5th and Florida at 2pm. This tour is free.

Very strange bedfellows!
How soon we forget that Pascal fought tooth & nail against the singles beer ban. He represented almost every single liquor store in ANC 6A.

6:32,
I'm not sure what you mean by strange bedfellows. In addition to being the "Market Lawyer," Mr. Pascal is also General Counsel for the District of Columbia Association of Beverage Alcohol Wholesalers, Incorporated. And yes, for obvious reasons they did oppose the singles ban.

we don't forget. Paul and I are on "opposite" sides with regard to some alcoholic beverage sales issues, although we respect our respective positions.

We have worked together wrt "Florida" Market.

At the tour, I commented that keeping the market required both an inside and outside game. Paul, having worked as a small business lawyer in the city for 40+ years is a master of the "inside" game. I worked the "outside" (public, civic engagement, advocacy) game.

Elise, if you want to do tours, I'm game.

Richard, I'd be up for it. It's be awesome if the Pascals would like to join again.
