Which VIP is Dining on H Street?
At a little after 12:30pm Sticky Rice sent out the following tweet:
VIP on hst today during lunch. No hst parking for now.Since that time Twitter has been all abuzz with speculation as to the identity of the mystery guest. Reports have come in that the Secret Service was on site scoping out the area earlier this week. A reader pointed out that Obama is scheduled to have one of his Dinner with Obama events tonight at an undisclosed restaurant. President Obama previously dined on H Street at Boundary Road (414 H Street). The First Lady has visited Sticky Rice (1224 H Street). For those experiencing Biden fever, it's not him (he's still in Wisconsin).

Our mystery guest did turn turn out to be Obama, and he had dinner at Smith Commons (1245 H Street).

Saddly there seems to be nothing to do but rampent speculation about who may or may not be having lunch. I wish people around here would get a life and a grip on their faculties. A VIP going to lunch is really about them going to lunch. Let's just let them each their lunch in peace.

Anytime a prez, first lady, or vp comes to H it's big news. It increases exposure to the area and drives revenue to the locals businesses. In essence, it is a big deal.

Levy, I read it because it popped up, and no the President coming for lunch isn't a big deal, the first time maybe. I don't think Kohler celebrated every time he uses the can either. Grow up H Street.

Robby, take the trolling somewhere else. If this is Obama H Street will be shut down and our neighborhood turned into the focus of a national security apparatus. My crosstown commute tonight just became pure hell, and I'm happy to know about it.

a) it definitely appeared to be Obama, he just went by with his huge motorcade.
