10am-5pm Union Market (1309 5th Street)

Crafty Bastards is an annual arts and crafts fair organized by the Washington City Paper. You can find everything from unique t-shirts, to really cool prints that re-write history (e.g. a giant snake attacking the Washington Monument), to faux taxidermy.

Kids get in free, and tickets are $5 at the door for adults. You can score 2 for $5 online if you buy them today.

Just finished writing my post on it.

It was *packed* today. Great event for the union market and the neighborhood.

It would be awesome if that was the normal foot traffic in the neighborhood. As I drove on FL ave I was like wow, felt so vibrant and alive. Hopefully this become the norm.

Glad it went well even after all the bitching about the admission fee and new location. Guess those few people not going didn't make a difference.

5:05,
I'm also thrilled that it was a smash hit. They halved the admission price ($5 versus $10), and ran reals online that allowed people to get in for $2.50 if you arrived with a buddy.
