there was another stickup by two dudes fitting same description at 8p, near 10th and H, according to MPD twitter feed.
Hope Tommy Wells and Cathy Lanier are going to talk about the craziness lately in eastern stretch of H.

PS, yes aware this on Bladensburg north of H. But this stuff is alarming. perhaps business owners can pay for extra patrols, or we can use the city surplus to get more cops on the street.

Damn neighborhood is too hot right now.

Second guy involved in this died now also. Interesting that one of em was from NW and one from SE. Dudes seem a little old to be involved in all that foolishness.

In less than a week there was a shooting on 6th and G, 9th and H, and this one on Bladensburg - too too many....

Is anyone honestly surprised by a shooting at that location?

There was also another shooting last week at 8th and H. I think the same day of the one on 6th and G. It happened at the bus stop around 9:00 p.m.

ANON 11:45 AM -

I've lived at that location for 7 years, and yes I am surprised by a shooting at that location. I don't think we should get in the habit of passing off shootings as "well, I'm not surprised....".

to Dec 26, 2012 5:51:00 PM; agree with your sentiment.
the recent crimes are outrageous and we need more cops. to whoever will argue that DC is already "overpoliced," that simply assumes the dozen federal police agencies are doing more than just protecting the headquarters and top officials of federal agencies.
we need cops on 8th and H and we need more patrols walking, biking around to keep the thugs at bay.
to claim lack of surprise is to give up. and that's what lead to the decline of cities like DC a generation ago.

There was a robbery with a gun last night at around 9:35 pm at 8th and Maryland. I am not sure of the details or if anyone was shot.

@ Anon 5:51 -- I dont think any reasonable person conflates the job that federal agencies do with the job (patrol the streets of DC) MPDC does. Also, the number of MPDC officers has steadily risen in recent years. This crimes are terrible, but I think we are on the right path.
