Mother Ruckers Subs to Open Saturday

Mother Ruckers Subs opens its doors this Saturday at 1101 Bladensburg Road (the old Sullivan space). Sandwich prices range from $4.50-$6.90. They will be open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm. Here's a City Paper article from June with more background on the owner.

Great news!

Did she run out of cute names for the rest of the subs? She needs a Trinidad's favorite and a Carver Langston's favorite. And maybe a frozen tropic sandwich- with pork, plantains and coconut- served a la mode of course.

We'll give them time, but I agree. Not sure about the coconut, but make it garlic, and that Frozen Tropics sandwich sounds pretty tasty to me.

Of course! Just when I'm about to start my New Year's diet.

I really hope this place does well, there is a lot of opportunity on Bladensburg.

I don't really understand those 3 houses kitty corner to this place which are next to where the City Diner used to be. It always looks like the first one is condemned, and the other two don't seem to be in that great of shape either. But from my observational count of the people always hanging around, they must house about 26 people.

Those places need to be razed, the people hangin there all day are drunks or PCP zombies, that scene is inevitably going to run headlong into the law abiding skinny pants set moving into the Flats. Predictable and avoidable.

This is exciting news. Everyone please support locally owned busines especially those of you who hate chain establishments. I like the idea of a Trinidad and Carver Langston sandwhiches. Ill have a Godfather ;p on Sat. Ink are you gonna post any pics?

Annona,
I'll happily post pics once I have some. I just haven't seen any sandwiches yet.

Nothing much here for me, unfortunately. Any time the only vegetarian option is thrown in at the bottom as an afterthought doesn't really bode well for me trying to get a good value meal. Taylor is sort of pricey, but gives me lots of options. Oh well! I'll still give them a shot a drag my meat-lover boyfriend over at least once or twice.
