Erik Bruner-Yang Up for Food & Wine's Best New Chef Mid-Atlantic
Have you cast your vote yet for Food & Wine's Best New Chef Mid-Atlantic Region? If not, you should do so soon. Toki Underground's (2nd floor of 1234 H Street NE) own Erik Bruner-Yang is one of ten contenders for the title. Bruner-Yang opened Toki in April of 2011 and hasn't look back since. Aside from making ramen for you and me, Erik's also served ramen to some big names in the food world, including Alice Waters (Chez Panisse), José Andrés (Minibar), Ferran Adrià (El Bulli), and Gastón Acurio (Astrid & Gastón). He's also the culinary powerhouse behind Maketto, which will open up sometime in 2013 at 1351 H Street.
