Impala Cantina y Taqueria Pops-Up at Toki Underground

Print
Impala Cantina y Taqueria, the new Mexican restaurant coming to 1358 H Street is hosting a pop-up at Toki Underground (2nd floor of 1234 H Street) this Sunday. Tickets are $40 and are likely to sell out quickly due to limited seating.

Here's what owner Troy Hickman had to say about it:
As we work on the menu for Impala, we're using Toki as a test kitchen. This gives us a chance to play with different dishes and get feedback from customers. The last tasting was focused on tacos. This Sunday we'll be serving 4 different tortas on house-made telera rolls. The guys at Ledroit Brands have been nice enough to sponsor a tequila and mezcal tasting.

Noticed the place that used to be Danny's next to Smith Commons has made some serious progress recently. That is going to be another taco place right? Will they open before Impala?

1:24,
That's Sol Mexican. Not totally sure about their timeline. I will say that I'm expecting it to be a very different sort of offering than Impala.
