Reminder: FLEX at the Flats at Atlas Saturday

Apparently the FLEX show at the Flats at Atlas is growing. You can see works by 34 different artists. Here's more info about FLEX:

FLEX is pleased to present the first of an exciting series of temporary exhibitions, which will occur for one night on Saturday April 27th from 7-10pm. The exhibition will be housed in several spaces in and around the Flats at Atlas (1600 Maryland Ave NE), and will include sculpture, painting, performance and video works by a diverse group of local artists. Intentionally enigmatic, the works presented are aligned by their persistent questioning of the viewers’ assumptions. The majority of the works will be displayed indoors in a raw street-level space, while videos projections and kinetic sculpture will be displayed outdoors, and performances will take place in the Atlas Flats lobby/basketball court throughout the evening. The launch of FLEX promises to be an energetic mind-meld of local artists and curators working outside of a specific gallery structure, which will continue to morph into new forms and inhabit new spaces in the future. For a complete list of artists participating and for additional details please visit: http://www.capitolflex.com.

Calder Brannock of Camper Contemporary and Adventure Residency, Billy Friebele and Michael Dax Iacovone of Freespace Collective and Jonathan Monaghan bring this episode of FLEX to you in collaboration.

Yes! what a fun event! I was shocked at how amazing the building is. I guess if you are going to have DuPont Circle-type rents on Bladensburg Road, the building has to be much nicer than anything in DuPont Circle at that price point. It was wild to be standing next to a gorgeous pool at an amazing, expensive boutique building and look across the street and see Heckinger Mall! :-)
