Camp Runway SYEP Fashion Show & Pop Up Boutique at Sherwood Rec

DC Fashion Foundation in partnership with the Department of Employment Services (DOES) Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will effectively facilitate Camp Runway’s 4th annual Fashion Show at Sherwood Recreation Center. On August 8th, Camp Runway participants will showcase garments they designed and created themselves during the 6 week summer program on the stage for friends, family, and the community. Camp Runway will also host a Pop-up boutique that will market custom jewelry and “Uprising Posh” screen printed T-shirts as a fundraiser with the support of Friends of Sherwood.

The goal of the program is to effectively teach sewing disciplines in order to build youth's self-confidence, explore their own creativity, learn marketing and entrepreneurial skills, and ultimately assist them to become economically self-sufficient.
