Chupacabra Presents a Latin Food Eating Challenge

BTffnOiCYAA_AIr

A new event joins the line up for this year's H Street Festival. Chupacabra has just announced a taco/cubano/arepa eating contest. Contestants can register for free to compete against seven other eaters. The one who successfully consumes the most food in eight minutes wins. The ever popular Dangerously Delicious pie eating contest returns, so choose your battle carefullly. I believe Taylor also once held a hoagie eating contest. The H Street Festival is Saturday September 21st from 12-7pm. This year it will stretch out an entire ten blocks! Bring your friends, and make plans on where to meet early because cell phone towers seemed to be a bit overloaded last year.

. . . what exactly constitutes "chipmunking"?

Chipmunking in this context presumptively means keeping the food in your mouth without swallowing...I suppose meaning your mouth has to be empty of food every 30 seconds or so...seems like a good policy to keep contestants from choking themselves...

ps: If you Google chipmunking, the term is used in several other ways

Don't mean to be a downer, but I think food-eating contests are outright travesties. I recognize they have been a long-standing tradition here and elsewhere. And I realize we have a food distribution issue in this country and not necessary a food shortage. But in my opinion food is to be consumed and savored, not inhaled...
