Progress Down at Chupacabra

As you can see from the tweet above, construction on the covered (but not enclosed) Chupacabra (822 H Street) patio is moving right along.

Well now I can see what neighbors were concerned about. I'm all for it myself but this is a much larger outdoor area than I thought it would be.

I'm worried about the noise this will create on the street. I hope they aren't planning to have music.

wonder what the permitting process is to get this thing built. there are all sorts of hurdels to build a roof deck. they appear to be building a not necessarily temporary structure on a good deal of sidewalk space. suprised they need tha much space. never had trouble finding seating on their small patio. can their kitchen even cook enough food to fill the orders that would come from a full large patio?

1:38,
It isn't a roof deck, just a covering for the existing patio

The place is dead most of the time seems like a waste of money

The negativity towards the small businesses in the comment sections recently is appalling.

Glad to see Chupacabra expanding.

6:31,
Please keep in mind that some people actually spend time going onto blogs strictly with the intention of posting comments meant to needle others. So take any comments with a grain of salt. I think that most people around here (including the majority of the people who read this blog) strongly support & enjoy most of our local businesses.

We recently tried this place and we're very happy with the food. We plan on coming back and now recommend it to our friends. This is a cool idea and adds to the neighborhood.
