Weekend East City Event Round Up: The Art Harvest

Saturday November 12
Union Arts Building (12-6pm)
The Union Arts Building opens its doors to the general public.   Watch artists create in this former industrial building.  For more information, click here.

Off Rhode Gallery (1pm to 4pm)
OMG Shoes! features work by several artists celebrating our society’s love affair with shoes. For more information, click here.

Off Rhode Gallery is located at 2204 Rhode Island Avenue NE, lower level

Honfleur Gallery & The Gallery at Vivid Solutions (5pm to 9pm)
On the lower level, Honfleur Gallery will open its art files to the public in the form of a curated exhibition while upstairs, The Gallery at Vivid Solutions will show photographs from Worn Magazine’s archives.  For more information, click here.

Brentwood Arts Exchange (5pm to 8pm)
Cianne Fragionne has inherited her style from the San Francisco Bay School of Abstract Expressionism.  In My Haiku, expect to see bold canvases including work inspired by a recent residency in Italy.  For more information, click here.

39th Street Gallery (5:30pm to 8:30pm)
Artist couple Genna Watson and John Dickson share their keen awareness of physical matter with the audience in their duo exhibition A Series of Random Acts of Courage. For more information, click here.

RandallScottProjects (6pm to 8pm)
Keeping in the theme of showing archival work, RSP will show the work of five represented artists at their H Street gallery.  For more information, click here.

CONNERSMITH
Just a block from RSP, CONNERSMITH will show the work of six of their represented artists including light guru Leo Villareal.  For more information, click here.

Catalyst Projects (6pm to 9pm)
In Exposure- Experiments in Photography a group of nation-wide artists have challenged themselves to transcend both the medium and subject matter of their work.  For more information, click here.

EMULSION (7pm to 10pm)
East City Art’s EMULSION at Gallery O on H is finally here!  Out of 135 artists who applied to exhibit, gallerist and juror Lauren Gentile selected 27 artists of whom only 3 will receive monetary prizes.   Tommy Wells and Lisa Richards, Deputy Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, will be addressing the artists and the audience at 7:30pm.  There will be live music and performances after awards are presented at 8pm.  For more information, click here.

Gallery O on H is located at 1354 H street NE

The East City Art Quarterly Guide to the Visual Arts Winter 2013 Edition comes out December 7 in the Hill Rag and December 14 in East of the River.
