I know the old farmer's market wasn't the best, but I still miss it. I'm shocked at how quickly that turned around into white gentry city... I just saw the Walkmen play there, for god's sake!

Oh for the days of stopping by the Funky Flea Market then picking up a dirt cheap pork shoulder for the smoker. Now it's all strollers and $10 sandwiches.

Can we get some news on this blog instead of pictures of a neighborhood that no longer exists?

Anon 12:19pm -- sucks to be you. If I were you, I'd stop paying for your access to this blog.

I'm a bit behind this week. We've all got to take a break sometimes.

Well PoP breaks more news about our little hood than FT does. Been that way for a whole now. Sad to say but true. Our commentariat is still better though.

heaven forbid somebody fondly remembers the way things used to be.

Also, just because you fondly remember what's there doesn't mean you can't also enjoy what is there now. In this case, what was there then is so different from what is there now, and the change happened practically overnight, it's disorienting.
