Honestly, I'm not *Surprised!* by a shooting in this location.

There is practically an open air drug market going on in the yards of one of the houses on that street.

yep. sorry to say, but i'm not surprised either.

the only surprising thing about this, is that it's been the only incident in that area that MPD has reported on, within the last two months.

*that* is surprising.

9:44,
You can see from the post that the alert went out at 6:19pm last night. So the shooting likely occurred shortly before that.

That part of the community is still very rough,
but it's going to change fast.

It's been changing fast for a decade. Lots of embedded crime, though the crackers over there will deny it (or try to tout their street cred by mentioning that they elected to live there).

I live on that block, and have for a year and a half. It is changing rapidly - houses are being renovated and sold at a good clip, and even beyond that the block is typically exceptionally quiet, with good neighbors and a tight-knit community. These things happen - it's the city. To my knowledge there is nothing like an "open air drug market" on the street - perhaps on 19th St or Bennett place, but not this street.

Hah, that bullshit sandwich has been getting passed around since I moved to the neighborhood 15 years ago...
