New Crown Fried Chicken Sign is Awesome!

IMG_0034[1]

The remodeling of Crown Fried Chicken (716 H Street) is complete. The interior is now much brighter, thanks to the new glass front.

The new sign adds a lot of personality to the place as well. People who may have walked past the old Crown Chicken might be tempted to walk in and give it a try now. They offer many Halal items (ask when you order). Has anyone tried Crown yet? What do you think?

The renovation looks nice--much brighter than before! But I have to ask... WHAT is up with that sign? Is that Comic Sans? Why are some letters randomly capitalized?

snifff... sniiiffff...

Yep, that there is some prime, grade-A, kerning-free Comic Sans.

At this point, I can't even tell if someone is using The Comic Font ironically or if a lot of people really think it looks neat. I'm adrift in this sea of sarcasm we call modern life.

Comic Sans, aka Kindergarten Sans.

Couldn't they paint the rest of the facade? Don't know if they own it, but the peeling paint reflects on the restaurant as much as the new sign...

Great to see - I know I'll give them a try. I'm a big believer in supporting local businesses that are working to improve their business and our community.
