Washington City Paper Loose Lips Ward 6 Debate on 3/25

Washington City Paper columnist Loose Lips (Will Sommer) is moderating a debate between the Democratic candidates for the Ward 6 Council seat vacated by Tommy Wells next Tuesday, 3/25, at the Rock-N-Roll Hotel. Doors at 7pm, debate starts at 8. This will probably be your last chance to see the Democratic candidates present their position on issues facing our ward before the April 1 primary, so show up and find out where they stand.

There is an article in today's WP that indicates that young people that have recently moved to DC are not interested in DC politics, and probably wont vote in the April 1 election. Is this true? Or just true of Coupe patrons?

I've met people of all ages who recently moved here who aren't interested in local politics. I've also met people who have lived here their whole lives who aren't interested in local politics. The Post often makes simplistic generalizations when covering the city.

Darrel Thompson apparently isn't interested in DC politics - he failed to vote in quite a few elections.
