FONA Plant Sale & Garden Fair at the National Arboretum

IMG_6361

Spring has finally sprung, and it’s just in time for the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) Annual Garden Fair, April 25-26 at the National Arboretum. Held in conjunction with Arbor Day, FONA’s plant sale and garden fair is continually recognized for its premier selection of new, rare and exotic plants that are best suited for growing in the Washington, D.C. area.

Whether you are a seasoned gardener, a plant novice or just looking to spruce up your apartment balcony, each year, the National Arboretum’s top plant experts are on site to provide skilled advice and ensure customers walk away with the plants best suited for their individual gardening interests.

FONA’s garden fair is more than just a plant sale, open to solo enthusiasts and families alike.  Stop by on Saturday to catch a performance by the Washington Revels or nibble from an array of popular D.C. food trucks.  Also, don’t forget to wander into the heart of the Arboretum to catch a glimpse of the stunning collection of seasonal plants in full bloom. Money from the Garden Fair directly contributes to the National Arboretum gardens.

Friday 4/25: 10am-1pm – Members Only Hours. Members get first pick! Become a member! 1pm-4pm – Garden Fair and Plant Sale opens to the public.

Saturday 4/26: 9am-4pm – Garden Fair and Plant Sale is open to the public. Enjoy music from the Washington Revels and be sure to take the time to explore the Arboretum Collections, they are in gorgeous bloom this time of year!
