Honeycomb Comes to Union Market

Honeycomb joins Salt & Sundry (pictured) and a host of other food and retail vendors at Union Market

An email went out this morning teasing readers with details on Toki Underground Chef Erik Bruner-Yang's newest venture. It's a shop called Honeycomb, and it's open right now at Union Market (1309 5th Street). I'd actually been meaning to stop by after a reader emailed me with exciting information about the offerings.

Honeycomb sells fresh produce, as well as a variety of homemade sauces and fermented goods (nuoc cham, hoison, kimchi, and kombucha among them). The email also promises "an array of Asian goodies not limited to snacks, candies, and condiments."

9am-8pm. Located in the rear of Union Market (by Harvey's Meats).

I highly recommend. The people there couldn't be nicer and their homemade kimchi is delicious!

I agree. Try the black garlic or green fish sauce.

11:55,
Is that traditional winter kimchi? Do they also have a cucumber kimchi?

I don't know how full a stock of Vietnamese stuff they have, but if I can reduce the number of shopping trips out to Seven Corners I'll be beyond happy.
