I don't have much info on this place aside from the ABRA app that just came in. Back in 2010, it was slated to become a sports bar called Our Place on H.

it seems we get a new bar or restaurant every month.
Has anyone run the numbers?

Sounds boring

Yes. Doesn't sound very interesting nor the sort of thing I would like to see in our neighborhood. On this part of H, I think there should be higher end offerings - even if a fast food/takeout/casual place comes to this spot, I would prefer that it offered quality food, not subs, fries and hamburgers. How about a decent delicatessen - a REAL one, with healthful, nutritious home-style, cooked food that people can pick up on their way home and re-heat, as well as salads, cheeses and different cuts of hams etc.

Trashy food keeps coming to H street. Isn't it time for another addition of a quality restaurant like Le Granier or Atlas Room?

I agree completely with 8:48!

DC Harvest is really good! A wonderful addition to the West end!

Yep, check out DC Harvest.

a REAL deli with healthy food? wtf. Real delis dont do much in the healthy department. Real deli's pile delicious salted cured meats and other processed cold cuts high on bread and load them with oil and vinegar and/or mayo. They also sell bagels with a quarter to a half inch of cream cheese between the halves and other stuff like bacon, egg, and cheeses

Well don't support them if you don't like what they offer. Stay home and cook your own healthy food. Better yet open your own spot.

even the name of the place is boring.

I wonder where this place will put their trash? Their building takes up their entire lot so they cannot put it in their back yard or in the alley. I think a situation with the garbage being in public space like with Big Board should be avoided. I love BB but I do not love walking by and seeing/smelling their dumpster on the sidewalk every day.

It's called Sixth and H Street Bar and Grill? It doesn't get much more lazy than that when it comes to naming your establishment. I'm in agreement with other posters- I would love to see more high-end offerings rather than just another burger and fries joint (and honestly, nothing is going to beat Big Board's burgers anyway).

The description and name are generic, but I would love a place like Cleveland Park Bar & Grill, which has the same. They also serve pizza and other "bar food," but it's still good quality.

Yup, the name is boring too. I have an idea! How about "Sixth and H Street Bar and Grill between Noma and Capitol Hill near Union Station in Atlas District Washington DC"?

What's the big deal about an average place? Big Board does well. It's a neighborhood joint. Maybe it's cause their food is something foreign and exotic... Wait. They serve hamburgers and fries, and people watch sports and drink beer there. This is what people want. An entrepreneur recognized it, and is putting the West Ends needs into action. There's plenty of high end stuff on the West Side, but nothing similar to the Big Board.

This place will do ridiculous business, naysayers in this thread be darned. Lots of residential density on the west side and more coming. They'll want a neighborhood bar and Big Board can't hold them all. It's a smart move. Hope the food is good.

Seriously I took a look at the place. Where will they put their trash, dirty linens and grease waste?

Maybe it'll be like Summer's out in Arlington. Boring, but shows every soccer game being played across the world.

+1 and they can have all my money if they do that.

Boring but I am sure they will do well. Every minute a sucker is born, once an entrepreneur told me!

i don't think we need high end, i would actually love it if they opened a diner. it would be great to have a decent breakfast place that is comfortable, doesn't require you to do the whole brunch scene, and is open for late-night eats.

I like sports and Atlas Room is some bougie nonsense.
